These are few basic terminologies for

Population — Population is any large collection of objects or data e.g Students, Cars, etc. about which information is desired

Parameter — it is any summary number or metric e.g. median, mean, percentage, etc that describes any Population

Sample — a sample is a representative group of a Population

Statistic — it is any summary number or metric e.g. median, mean, percentage, etc that describes any Sample

Mean — Mean (average) of a data set is found by adding all numbers in the data set and then dividing by the number of values in the set.

Median is the middle value when a data set is ordered from least to greatest.

Mode is the number that occurs most often in a data set.
